What gathers the caravan
Karwaan is an open mic in the truest sense — anyone can take the stage, and every night braids together three kinds of courage.
Spoken word, poetry and Maithili storytelling — from open-mic first-timers to Poet Idol finalists.
Singers, flautists and composers. Voice of Nepal alumni and viral duets have all shared the stage.
Stand-up sets and humorous verse that keep the room warm between the quiet, weighty moments.
From chiya guff to Karwaan
Karwaan grew out of chiya guff — the long, looping chai conversations between friends. The word means कारवाँ: a caravan, a journey travelled together. In under eighteen months it became a six-edition series with real sponsors, charity nights and full rooms.
No gatekeeping, mostly free entry, and a standing invitation: bring a poem, a song or a joke, and join the journey.
